MASTER THESIS PROJECT

ADAPTIVE REUSE OF THE SPRINGBURN WINTER GARDENS

The following is the final product of my Master's Thesis research, which investigated strategies of placemaking, counterpreservation, and the implementation of vernacular interventions in the transformation of an abandoned Scottish conservatory into a social and cultural gathering space for the local community. In addition, a comprehensive master plan was developed for the 77-acre Springburn Park, in which the site sites, to serve as a catalyst for the area's regeneration. A physical model of the site was produced and the final design solution was defended in front of an architectural jury.
