BACHELOR THESIS PROJECT
THE RESTORATION HUB
The following is the final product of my Bachelor's Thesis research, which investigated the restorative effects of wood in the built environment on student health and well-being. The project involved the adaptive reuse of a 1,670 sqm. (18,000 sqft.) World War II munitions plant into a student centre. The Restoration Hub addresses social and mental health issues faced by post-secondary students as a result of COVID-19 pandemic restrictions by creating a comfortable, safe space for them to connect with their peers, study for exams, and recharge their inner batteries through physical activity or meditation.
